About two months ago I moved from my “workshop”(garage) to a space twice the size. After all of my tools were moved out I looked at my garage floor and it was not pretty…
We had never finished the exterior part of our addition, I had spray paint and stain all over my garage floor, and my dear husband had his “lovely” display of license plates. I did not want to spend a lot of money on a mini-face lift so I decided to head to my trusty box home improvement store.
I picked up a can of primer off of the clearance shelf and then over by the stain, and exterior pain I found a fantastic line of paint by Valspar that made porch and floor paint and it was tint-able! Next to the paint were different shades of flex you could buy to throw on top of your paint.
There were also garage floor kits you could buy for about $100, but even that was more than I wanted to spend! So I had my little Lowe’s gal mix me up some Dark Grey and home I went.
After paint a small square you sprinkle your flecks over the paint, making sure to only paint a small square at a time. This could not have been easier! But after it was painted- how ugly did my old work table look? REALLY UGLY. Since I needed to paint the addition part of the exterior I took a chip of stucco to Home Depot where they matched the color of the stucco to an exterior gallon of paint. Just about everything received a coat of paint in my garage, except the small amount of storage items we left.
$50 and 3 hours later- it was like my wood shop never existed!
And now my garage/art workshop studio looks pretty fantastic too! This was a REALLY easy DIY, so let me know if you have any questions!
